Sacred Games Season 1 Episode 1 - Minimal Poster
Ashwathama, an immortal being, was the living survivor of Kurukshetra war. The first episode of Sacred Games Season 1 is also named after him, where we are introduced to Sartaj Singh, the real Ashwathama, and Gaitonde, the spiritual Ashwathama and the mentor of Sartaj Singh.

In the battle of Kurukshetra, he used Narayanastra - a weapon that fires multiple shots at the same time.

In this poster, Narayanastra can be seen in the middle. Except that, those who have seen the show can understand the dog reference.

It is believed that both Devas (Deities) and Asuras (Demons) churned the sea together to produce Amrit - a drink that makes you immortal. But the fate turned the sea into poison called Halahala, which eventually started harming both Devas and Asuras.

Together then went to seek Shiva's help after being ignored by Brahma and Vishnu. Shiva drank the Halahala and saved Devas and Asuras.

Here, the snake represents Halahala. Blood represents harm caused by Halahala. The tagline says "Who survived Halahala?", and behind that, there is 5 headed Shiva.

Ilvala (Atapi) and Vatapi were rakshasas and brothers.

Vatapi knew the art of transformation and had the power to change into any life form. Ilvala knew the ‘Mritasanjivani’ mantra to bring back the dead. They used these powers to loot and kill. Ilvala invite a brahman to a feast and Vatapi would turn himself into a Goat.

Brahman would eat the goat, and then Atapi would call him: "Vatapi! Vatapi! Come out. Come here."
Then Vatapi would rupture Brahman's stomach and come out alive.

In Hindu mythology, Sarama (Sanskrit: सरमा, Saramā; Telugu: సరమ;Tamil: Carapai; Thai: Trichada; Malay: Marcu Dewi) is a mythological being referred to as the female wolf of the gods, or Deva-shuni (देव-शुनी, devaśunī). She first appears in one of Hinduism's earliest texts, the Rig Veda, in which she helps the god-king Indra to recover divine cows stolen by the Panis, a class of demons.

In episode 5, where Sartaj Singh decides to fight the battle on his own, Bunty steals the show. The famous CHHATRI dialogue and then the tragic demise afterwards leave us wanting more from Kashyap and his team.

Pretakalpa refers to the cycle of life and funeral rites and how to perform them and is often read when a person dies.

The most beloved character, Katekar dies in this episode. The iconic beach scene where Sartaj critizes the city and its people will remain with us forever due to optimism of Katekar; the hope he provides us.

Rudra is the personification of 'terror'. Depending up on the periodic situation, Rudra can be meant as the most severe roarer/howler (could be a hurricane or tempest) or the most frightening one. (Source: Wikipedia)

Malcolm is a name of Scottish origin meaning "disciple of Columba". It came to be used to refer to a person who was devoted to, or a disciple or follower of, God or a specific saint.

In episode 7, Malcolm emerges as the greatest fear of all. He kills Anjali and leaves Sartaj with an unforgettable wound.

According to Bhagavat Purana, Yayati, also known as the father who exchanged his old age with youth of his son, was a puranic king and the son of King Nahusha and Ashoksundari belonged to Aila dynasty.

In this episode, Sartaj finally joins the dots after finding out his father, Dilbagh Singh not only helped Gaitonde in jail but also went under wings of Guruji. Sartaj recalls the memories of Mandala and reaches the hideout of Trivedi.

Another interesting interpretation from Guruji's famous dialogue can lead us to Oedipus complex. Sartaj's doubts about his father builds the curiosity.

This father-son relationship takes a u-turn in Gaitonde's timeline when we see him as a child killing his mother - a sin for which Gaitonde's biological father goes to jail.

Sartaj's amputated thumb, Dilbagh Singh's turban, and this road, which symbolically narrates the tale of Oedipus complex concludes my poster journey on Sacred Games Season 1.
